In football. Yes! Football as in Soccer in American term! The powerhouse Brazil thumped by the Philippines!

MANILA, Philippines—The Philippines pulled off a stunning 6-2 victory over Brazil Thursday night for its first victory in the 1st Deloitte Street Children World Cup in Dunbar, South Africa.

Noriel Pineones sparked the Filipinos with four goals, including three in the first half that set the tone for the awe-inspiring triumph.

The Philippines faces Ukraine in the semifinals of the SCWC Shield.

The Filipinos finished the group stage third behind Britain and Tanzania with a win against two losses.

Pasargad FC Profile

Pasargad FC started in 1996 when a group of football enthusiasts decided to form a team. Initially, the team consisted mostly of Iranians, a few Africans and some Filipinos that joined together to play the beautiful game.

Until today, Pasargad FC has continued to join various tournaments available around the country; and from the 3rd division, the club eventually climbed up to the first division after a series of championships won. Today, Pasargad FC is a member of the 1st division football League in the country. Moreover, the club has recently won the 1st division football league (UFL) with no loss record all throughout the tournament. Pasargad FC is considered to be one of the strongest club team in the country today, consisting of players from the national team, players from different collegiate teams, and a good coaching staff.

Giligan’s Profile

Giligan’s is known for its chain of Filipino Restaurants owned by football aficionado Filbert Alquiros. Always a supporter of Philippine Football, Giligan’s FC is a member of Muntilupa Parañaque Las Piñas FA (MPLFA). Its players are standouts from the MPLFA Premier League and imports from the Barotac and Santa Barbara areas of the province of Iloilo.

With his love for football, Mr. Alquiros has employed provincial football players in need of a steady income, to be waiters and cooks for his restaurant and give them a chance to play football when the need arises. Giligan’s will also feature foreign players as well as Fil-foreigners on the team. Ernest Nierras is the Team Manager.
