Hey admin!

One of the fun things about forums is having the ability to customize profiles, avatars in particular. BBPress has a decent avatar upload plugin or you can use the increasingly popular Gravatar plugin.

I bring this up because I couldn't find a way to do so in this forum. If I'm mistaken, sorry about that bro! How do I upload one?

Thanks for your time!

Youngest member of the Austrian national team.

Bayern Munich first team.
Played in his first UEFA Champions League match this year.

Hi everyone! Long time no post!

I wandered into the Philippine Football Wiki on Wikipedia and noticed that we have a new coach! This all seemed to happen in a pretty low-key environment, if it's true.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philippines_national_football_team

Anyways, the coach is Des Bulpin? Is this for real? Another April Fool's joke?
Here's his Wiki:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Des_Bulpin

Who is Des Bulpin? He's been discussed heavily on the Filipino Football Blog already.
http://filipinofootball.blogspot.com/2009/11/des-bulpin-philippines-new-nt-coach.html
Anyways, a simple Google search would yield much better results.

So what're your thoughts on this?

From the Filipino Football Blog: (an awesome blog, I might add...)

"New Coach for Philippines Men`s NT
It seems that is the new Philippines head coach for Men`s NT (Azkals) is Edwin Cabalida, head coach of Air Force who won United Football League (UFL) . He come from Dumaguete.

Edsel Bracamonte is the new assistant coach , he is the assistant coach of Air Force and come from Iloilo."

So what do you guys think? To be quite frank, I wasn't buying all the Des Bulpin hype in spite of his frequent visits to the country and was on a "I'll believe it when I see it" state of mind. I'm honestly glad that we've got a more concrete signing in a coach, local or not, and now the team can get down to business preparing for the tournaments later this year.

I don't know about you guys but I'm feeling a bit optimistic. Maybe it's the post-world cup fever... :)

It would be about time to change the supposed nickname of the national team!

If you read something Philippine football related and there is a mention of "azkals" it just doesn't sound nice one bit and also it just doesn't click. And if you add in the various accents of people around the Philippines, it just makes it worse! It really does!!

I've never liked it and I'm sure there are lots of others who don't like it as well. The only problem is what the nickname would be since people are very adamant that the national team should have a nickname since it's quite hard to think of something appropriate and something that actually sounds nice.

Well, I say the nickname should be something regarding the Philippine eagle. The eagle has always been a symbol of many things like strength, freedom, etc. Just take a look at what the bald eagle in the US symbolizes. But the Philippine eagle is considered the king of eagles and perhaps king of all birds or in Filipino "Haribon" and I say we should use that as the new nickname. No more of this "azkal" b***s***!!

On June 1-14 , 2009 AFC C Certificate Coaching Course with more than 20 trainees will start. Hopefully these trainees will be successful and will contribute to CEBU's football development once they are certified.

This is great good news for CEBU FOOTBALL. Looks like Vision Asia is slowly taking place piece by piece. Crossing my fingers.

PHILIPPINE UNITED PROMOTED TO DIVISION ONE IN THEIR FIRST SEASON!!!

With two games still to play, Philippine United have gained promotion to Division One of the West Hertfordshire league, in their first season playing in it, which is a wonderful achievement to say the least.

Aside from being promoted and commended for being the cleanest team in Division Two, we also won two awards from the league.
A: RUNNERS UP MEDALS

B: and TOP GOALSCORER in all divisions. Our 19 year old goal-machine Aniello Mone has scored 41 goals in only 21 games, which is a feat that has never been achieved by anyone before in the West Hertfordshire league. With two games to go, that tally could become higher.

You can all see that United have had a great first year and are hoping for even better things next year. We are growing as a team and it's a shame that the new Philippine national coach Des Bulpin was unable to watch any of our games as I'm sure he'd be impressed.

My guys certainly have skill in abundance... and although we know we may not be playing in the best league in England, we have to start somewhere, and look how well we have done despite all the challenges we've faced. It is obvious that we belong somewhere with higher standards, as we have been killing off teams by four, five, even six goals at a time. Our players have football running through their veins and I'm sure that their well-known British grit would be an asset to the Philippine national team.

Talking of skill, what about my winger, Jason (The Beast) Arroyo? He was recently in London, and entered a Nike contest, stationed by the one and only, FIFA player of the year, Cristiano Ronaldo. It was a speed and control test, held at Arsenal's ground, The Emirates, between 60 top players from different regions, and Jason recorded the second fastest time in the whole country. He has now been invited to train with the mighty Spanish team Barcelona, in a few weeks time, which is a fantastic achievement by a Philippine United player. Ronaldo himself set the course, so you can all see that it was not a low level contest, but one to catch the eye of players and fans everywhere.

We have players with brilliant skills, just ask the fans who watch us every week. I don't care what standard they play in, skill is skill, and given the chance, my guys would love the chance to play against the nationals, so hopefully some sponsors will get my team over to the Philippines, and we will show you all what my guys can do.

I genuinely feel Des Bulpin would only benefit from looking at United's players and I hope that he does come to see us play in Division One next season.

I would like to wish him all the best with the national team and I know with Des being English, like myself, is that he will have them fitter than they have ever been, and stronger. So as I said a few months ago, he would be good for Philippine football, but the national team would be just that little better with a few of my players in it. Haha, sorry Des, I had to finish with the last word. Keep the faith all of you, until next week.

Yours in Football,

NORM PARKIN

Head Coach/Team Manager

NB Please also see this great reports from ABS CBN about Jason Arroyo going to Barcelona

THE GAME OF MY LIFE By Bill Velasco (The Philippine Star) Updated September 21, 2009 12:00 AM

A football renaissance

Believe it or not, Asian football was born in the Philippines, modestly, and grew steadily until about the 1950s. Though it is still the most popular sport in the world, and the most-played sport for most children worldwide until about the age of 12, soccer has been relegated to the shadows in an age of instant gratification.
Filipinos, who love high-scoring sports, prefer competitions that “fill it up”, like basketball, billiards, boxing and to some extent, bowling. Low-scoring affairs like soccer matches are a far interest, more so as open spaces are taken over by high-rises in urban sprawls.
Despite this, it is still the second-most played sport in the country, at least for children.
A group of soccer aficionados is hoping to fix that.
“People no longer remember Paulino Alcantara,” rues Javier Mantecon, a member of the board of trustees of the new Football Alliance (FA), a group of soccer lovers who have banded together to give the sport a figurative shot in the arm. “He was the first Asian to play European Class A football for FC Barcelona, and has been their all-time leading scorer with 357 goals in 357 matches. And he wasn’t a Fil-foreigner, he was a pure Filipino born in Iloilo.”
Alcantara was just the first success story in Philippine football.
There were championships in the Far Eastern Games, the precursor of the Asian Games, and the Asian Games themselves. But since 1991, there has been very little to cheer about in Philippine football.
“Football can be run as a successful business model, if you have a plan,” adds fellow trustee Santiago Araneta of the sponsoring LBC Express, Inc. “What is important is we do things one step at a time, and eventually, we’ll get there.
What FA has done is to partner with the United Football Club Association (UFCA) to put together a long-term business plan for the sport. The existing teams of the United Football League will each get corporate sponsors, either their own or enlisted by FA, to ensure the viability of each squad.
“As of now, we still have no way of determining which teams should be ranked where,” adds Philip Hagedorn of FA. “So we will have an initial competition to be able to rate everybody, and take it from there.”
The initial tournament will have 16 teams from the Armed Forces, schools and clubs, as well as teams of expats in the Philippines.
Players will receive the same allowances, and uniforms designed by Rudy Project, which will hopefully give their merchandising efforts some impetus. The United Football Cup will run from October to December, and will essentially determine the rankings, and which teams play in Division I and which teams play in Division II.
Relegation and promotion will be incorporated into the format to make things interesting.
The main tournament, the United Football League, will stretch from January to May. And the United Football Invitational, which will include a handful of teams from neighboring countries, will also be held in May. The FA believes it doesn’t make sense to be playing during rainy season.
“We actually have everything in place,” Mantecon continues. “We have the teams who are excited to play, the sponsors who have been very helpful, and even the print media, who are truly interested. We’ve even negotiated with SM to put up a pitch for us near Mall of Asia.
All we need now is to get people to watch the games.”
The FA has taken every step to professionalize the sport. What they need now is a snowball of public awareness to make sure the sport grows properly.

I strongly believe this is not true as many other past and present claims made by Paul

So my advice to the readers of this forum if they want accurate undistorted exagerated information is to visit the official site which is:

I'm just curious to know if anyone knows how good he is as a footballer?

Yes, football, the outdoor game, not futsal, as it's quite clear that he is main man in the futsal national team. He's this year's top scorer in the AFF Futsal Championship with six goals. Back in February during the AFC Futsal Championship qualifiers, he was also the top scorer and has been a mainstay in the futsal national for a few years now.

So again, anyone know if he's just as good in football? I would think that he is since futsal is a great foundation to becoming a good footballer and if he is any good perhaps he should get a shot in the national football team. Especially since there aren't any quality strikers around.

I have started this thread in order to consult with you the members of this forum and get your opinion if Paul aka Josue should be banned from this forum as I believe he is turning the majority of members off with his rubbish untrue posts....

I also belive that he does attach all this links back to his site in order to get his site rank higher on the search engines so he creates the deceitful appearance of a top relevant and important official site.

Please feel free to have your say if in favour or not....

I have created this thread in order to expose Mr Paul Weiler and also consult and debate with the rest of you forum members.

This is what I think of the man and I would like to share with you …

I try to keep it short and sweet…I am afraid I will fail as there is so much dirt to dig..

He has crated few web sites and registered few organisations in 1 charity organisation in Germany and 3 toothless penniless or poorly funded sporting originations in Philippines. Clearly he is the main man behind and most probably operating alone in Germany and In Philippines has employed people to do some work for him as he is hardly in the county.

He is dishonestly claiming involvement with other projects and Organisations he claims that he is associated with important People He assumes titles to make him important and relevant.

He dishonestly claimed in the Past that he was Part of the management of F C Inter Cebu which was proven to be totally untrue.

He somehow mislead the PFF and was appointed to be PFF,s consultant in Germany for a very brief period of time as they realised he was a total Fraud and a toothless pretender as he has no relevance and importance back in Germany and no help to PFF what so ever. Despite PFF instructing him not to claim to be a PFF consultant anymore he has been exposed doing time and time again.\

I am not aware of Paul submitting any reports or do anything of any importance whilst a consultant for PFF.

He is using his websites to distort and exaggerate the truth mislead and claim official association with other association and other people he claims to be the manager of this President of that, total meaningless titles that confuse anyone that don’t know much about the state of affairs in Pinoy Football. As I was back in 2007

He also uses many names in his Forum in order to make his forum look good busy and relevant but due to his poor English you don’t have to be a righting expert to see that is one and same incompetent person coming up with most crazy suggestions and accusations and claims My favourite….. “Vote for the new national team coach” were he recommends a relatively young German coach that his only claim and experience at that time was coaching a 1st div under 13 or 14 team/s to be the top option LOL.
In that thread you see the master at work, incriminating him self with multiple name entrees within minutes of each other you guest it, confirming the ridiculous suggestion.

Here are some of the many names he uses in his useless forum:
CHIMCHIM/HOMELAND/WC2006/LIMCHA/JOSHUEY/FCB_FAN

Paul has attempted to use aliases in other forums in the past but has been busted and exposed to be entered from the exact IP address so he has learned his lesson and uses only one in this forum….and that is “Josue”

Paul has of this Monday 1st of March 2010 hijacked the Denker league and conveniently renamed it PFSA Denker ( TOP Visayas League ) on his own site and when you go on the Official site which is http://fcintercebu.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=frontpage&Itemid=1
You don’t see Paul and any of his managers or associates or PFSA mentioned or in any Commemorative Pictures or text, no you don’t…..

On the another site he and another guy holds the “Respect” Banner which is totally irrelevant to the Pilipino football as there are no racist or sectarian issues that Some European leagues have In case you don’t know Let me explain what the Respect banner stands for……..

Respect is The FA’s program to address to educate and combat racism and unacceptable behavior from players and spectators in football – on and off the pitch.

Now only a guy Like Paul can be naïve or deceitful holding the banner up as there are no such Issues in Philippines but it sounds Nice I guess……………..or most probably he ran out of Ideas.

When Paul is asked to prove how much money equipment etc. him or his organizations contribute to the Pilipino Football he will not but I am sure if he does will be a grossly exaggerated amount…

Enough for now more in the next Issue…

As far as I am concerned and the way I see it PAUL WEILER IS A CERTAIN FRAUD not a GOD

I welcome anybody to have their say on the mater

Regards for now

Neil Etheridge and Chad Gould on loans for Philippine United FC

Since Philippine United was formed after a succecfully trial in August 2008 to find comming players for the national team and joined a league in West Hertsfordshire in North London in September 2009 , they have got a start , no one would even have dreamed about.

After 16 matches they are the only unbeaten team in the entire league there with 42 points and a goalscore of 74-22 and 31 of them scored by wonder striker only 18 years old Anielo Mone.

PUFC are 3rd in that leage but have played 3-4 matches less than the top 2 team and last Saturday they defeated the second in that league with whole 7-2.

With 8 games left they are expected to promote to Division 1 there and with hopefully an unbeaten record for the whole season

And now they have got a big help from Neil Etheridge and Chad Gould who has followed PUFC since the start. And last week PUFC Founder and director Leo Jensen had a talk with Fulhams manager Roy Hodgson and as he has agreed that Neil can play for PUFC on a 3 months trial starting from April 1 , 2010 and if that succeded he can start for that team for a shorter period when they promote to Div 1. Neil is looking forward to work with his Filipino team mates here in UK.

Also Chad Gould is looking forward for that challenge and he think by playing alongside the new wonder boy Anielo Mone could lead to a new striker partnership for the national team and he is convinced that PUFC will promote to a higher level and he would not deny playing for them in the future .

Before the start of the season Mari Martinez visited UK and monitored the team and he was impressed what he saw. Also on his tour in he visited sevearal manager from the Premier league together with Leo Jensen and those meetings turned out very positive and they have all agreed to do something to help Philippine Football and at the moment Leo Jensen is arranging some friendly matches for PUFC later this year to play the reserve and academy teams from the premierleague

More information later on theit website http://www.philippineunitedfc.com

Team Philippines meets the media!

This is the second year the Philippines will be represented in the Homeless World Cup, held annually in different parts of the world.

It is still a dream for each of the players on Team Philippines, but the reality of this life-changing experience is taking hold. The 2009 team represents differing levels of homelessness in the Philippines, differing levels of poverty, and different areas of the country. These individuals are in the process of becoming a team, which means working and playing together on and off the football pitch.

The squad is made up of 8 players, but also two reserves are dedicating their time and energies to step in, in case of injury or documentation problems. The hardest and least-rewarding position is that of our two reserves. They are wonderful football players and would desperately like to be part of this year’s squad, but are willing to sacrifice their energies to be part of a solution the Homeless World Cup offers.

Team Philippines is: Ronaldo Yurag, Mark Anthony Rosales, Robin Porcioncula, Larry Dela Cruz, Ricky Ortiz, Robert Francisco, Joemer Gelena, Marlon Lagundino, Rachy Gunda and Gerick Evioto.

They come from Masbate, Cebu City, Quatro in Cainta, Pagsanjan, Nasugbu, Calapan, Guiguinto, Surigao and the Floodway in Marikina.

They represent abandoned and abused children, informal and illegal settlements, joblessness, loss of education, and broken families. They also represent youth, family, love for their country and hope for the future. The opportunities of these games give substance to all the things they hope for and their families need.

The team was introduced not only as great footballers representing their country in Milan, but as ambassadors for their communities and families as they communicate the need of all people to have a home.

The first press conference was organized through the efforts of Urban Opportunities for Change Foundation, The Henry V. Moran Foundation, Amici Restaurant, and Virtusio Media.

Representing the TV media was TJ Manotoc with ANC, James Velasquez with GMA, and Carlo Carongor of RPN 9. Representing the print media was Pam Pastor with Philippine Daily Inquirer, Lai Reyes of Philippine Star, Ieth Inolino with Style Weekend/Sense and Style, Joba Botana of Manila Standard Today, and Alex Pator with Business Mirror.

In the last month, there has been an increased interest in this team and what they represent. The list of individuals and supporters are growing daily. It is with a combination of relief and thankfulness, from the organizers, that this team is being supported and encouraged.

We know their sacrifice and spirit will encourage you.

Some may have already read about Phil's reason for not playing in the just concluded international tourney.

I could remember when i was about his age, full of ideology and principles. Although Phil's reasons in my opinion is just petty, just too childish. I'm not saying that in a negative way against him.

It is just that Phil is still young, and he just needs our understanding and consideration.

What happened to this pseudo league?

It has been quiet since the UAAP started in February. Their reasons were that the referees are to be used in UAAP.

No notification of when the games would be back.

Two possible reasons:
1. The registration fee were not enough to cover the operating expenses. The P4,000 (to 5k, around that amount) fee was obviously too small.

2. Corruption.

Hi guys. My name is Tristan Bulandus. I currently play as a futsal goalkeeper for a 3rd Division Men's Team, named Manila Football Alliance. We play every Sunday in Dumlao at 2pm, its just along shaw boulevard near KFC. For those who want to play futsal you're all welcome to play there. Just text me in this number 09194052031.

I'm currently trying my best to have a stable career as an Electronics Engineer. Part of my dreams in life is to be good enough to play for the RP Futsal Team.

With lots of prayer and hard work, I shall try my best to improve until I reach that dream.

Thank you.
