it was tremendous we were able to beat a team ranked 30+ place above us 4-0 here at home. it is also obvious that when the azkals play here at home they do have a great performance, even with the 2-1 lost to Kuwait last time was great performance for them. but as what i can see, they seem to have a hard time playing wen games are held at the road or at neutral grounds. example is the Mongolia series where they won here at Panaad but lost in Ulan-Bataar. luckily we won in aggregates. We trashed Sri Lanka here in Manila but they were able to score against us on a set piece that i think we should had easily defended when we were on their home. all i can say is kapag nasa labas ang laban eh kabado na ako for i expect some of our players to have some kind of jitters. on my opinion the Singapore game should have not been 2-0. it should have been at least 1-1 or we should had won it considering that our players in my opinion is at par, or more, with the Singaporeans. most importantly, in that away game the crowd was on our side seeing that there are more Filipinos at the stands. it was almost a home game. i believe that if there is a weak spot on our team it is playing away games, I just hope they just can improve on that.

talo tayo sa singapore ngayon noh?
    kung dati tabla.

kahit friendly lang yan, makikita mo sa singaporean forums na gigil na gigil silang bumawi sa suzuki cup 2010 na draw.

    facts:
    suzuki cup 2010
    - coach mcmenemy
    - had the weaker azkals team
    - bagong leadership sa pff pero wala pang improvements marerealize agad kasi one month pa lang nanalo ang vote to oust martinez.
    - lack of funds
    - no support from govt., major sponsors and even the filipinos
    - RESULT 1-1
    - if anyone says chamba yung goal ni chris greatwich na yun eh di sige talo tayo ng 0-1. much better result pa rin sa talo ni kots na 0-2 sa singapore.

    singapore friendly 2011
    - kots
    - had the stronger azkals team
    - new leadership already well established and running
    - NO MORE LACK OF FUNDS
    - ALREADY HAS SUPPORT FROM GOVT. , MAJOR SPONSORS AND SUPPORT FROM PINOYS.
    - RESULT : talo 0-2

lahat na ng partida nasa kanya. don't make excuses for him. kasi pag napansin na ng mga tao na sirang plaka na ang mga excuses niya he will resort to blaming the players. that's not right anymore kasi ang mga players ang kawawa on and off the field, sila ang nabubugbog sa pitch at sila ang niriridicule criticize ng mga walang alam na crabs.

there is a need to sack this kots, it doesn't have to be mcmenemy. it has to be a coach that uses his head.
it's not just some pinoys who have noticed this. even a singaporean saw this, a "racist" singaporean at that.
backread niyo na lang starting page 1 ang thread na yan para maintindihan niyo pinag-uusapan doon at makita niyo gano ka racist yang hairi33.
now the best opinion you can get is one that isn't biased. now you can't call a singaporean's opinion on this as being biased because his passion is not with the azkals, di naman siya pinoy.

see alot of potential in Azkals. they just need a top quality coach... i mean really top quality...

    sheajane80,

I would like to add more info to your post.

The FIFA Goal program for PHI started in 2003 (in 2002 the PFF took a leave of absence from all international competition due to lack of funds, lack of future, lack of direction etc etc).

The first seeds of the FIFA Goal program was seen during the 2005 SEA games...that's the first time PHI used half fil-fors (that was the rookie season of the YH and Greatwich brothers).

Mcmenemy's legendary status was cemented due to THAT win against Vietnam. But I've always been critical of how we won that game. Simon used a 8-2-0 formation. That is NOT the way to progress football in PHI. No team in the world uses that formation. I see it as cowardly. That formation will not help PHI evolve into a better technical, practical and competitive team.

Pinoys (who are just new to football) should know that ONE win does not make you a legend. Even weak teams in La Liga do not use 8-2-0 against Real Madrid or Barcelona, because they know they will be criticised by the media, their fans and other people. These week teams actually do play attacking football.

I too have noticed that Weiss is very stubborn when it comes to substitution (ie vs kuwait, SEA games). I do not understand his reason for not using subs when it is obvious that some of the on-field players are fatigued. I can only assume he is trying to measure their limit (PS: but I also believe in the principle that if you are a top level player, you should be able to play 90 minutes of football, being tired is NOT an excuse because as a pro, you should be fit 24/7).

If that's the case, then he should work on improving the fitness of our players, specially those who just play in local leagues (because at the moment the standard of the local leagues is not enough to test their fitness, hence by the time they play for the azkals they encounter faster, tougher and more physical players).

Full 90!!! That's right HRK1...if you want to compete with the best, you need to be able to keep up with the Full 90...even at the youth level, kids who cannot go the Full 90 are being asked to seek outside conditioning to help them improve, if they want to remain competing at the highest level.
