Does he regularly update himself of the latest football tactics?
We were beaten by minnows that learned football the Asian way, and our team composed with players from Europe which is considered as a higher level of football than we have in Asia.

I agree. its time to change him. I think we are moving nack in time with this coach. I also hear bad things about him off and in the forum, so this guy must be That bad.
We should bring back Caslib as coach and Norman as assistant if possible.

I would say yes and no to that question of yours.
Yes coz a foreign coach who was trained in an environment of football mite have new technology to put in a team to improve. Up to date training for players is what we need. New ideas on how to play the game.
Also No coz, Filipino coaches are the most succesfull(result wise) in our team. With Caslib and Figedero the azkals can win games, but with foreigners they cannot.
So its up to you how you weight things.
Aris is not good enough either. I respect the man, but Norman was better. But the downside of Norman was he is too emotional. He chooses players based on nationality, not skills. He preferred Filipinos over Fil-foreigners in the lineup. That's why PFF execs interfered with his tactical plans. I think this was the reason why he left his coaching position.
Who brought us to new heights with wins? That was Ari. Eventhough you might wanna question some of this decisions during the Maldives qualifier.
Norman was good, and i can understand his decision by preferring some filipinos over the fil-foreigners. Why field a fil-foreigner who havent played a game in a very long time and is very rusty, when you can field a local player instead and can perform better? Not all fil-foreigners are that good or a shoe-in. It was wrong of the PFF to interfere. If you hire a coach, then let him do his job instead of interfering instantly by headhunting players only a couple of weeks before the main tournament. Thats what happened. Its not about being emotional. All coaches have their favourites or a vision on how they wanna do things. Norman has his players and Aris has his players. Just check the list of players Aris usually submit.
