Neil Etheridge will be in the lineup versus the Aussies.

The Aussies are stronger than the Uzbeks. Australia is ranked at 22 in the FIFA World Rankings.

    The Aussie senior team.

Unless the Azkals would display same composure they've had against Al Ahli, the Azkals may win, draw or lose by a close margin.

messy play by the azkals in miodfield, and up to the first 15 minutes most of the play is at the Azkal end, not good

Aussie goal at 11 minutes already, 8 players standing around and two open aussies, one easily just heads it in... gonna be a long night

    Philippines 0 vs 1 Australia U-23 - 11' Hoffman

Again, defensive lapse, leaving an opponent unmarked inside the penalty box.

Too much ball watching, also as if the 8 Azkal players got magnetized by the Aussie dribbling the ball, overlooking the guy in yellow jersey inside the box.

Phew 1-0 at halftime. Azkals looking very weak tonight, Aussies dominating with something like 66 or 67% ownership of the ball. Some key plays by Etheridge, Sabio, and Jonsson to keep the scoreline at 1-0. Could easily have been 2-0 or even 3-0 except for some key plays on D. Angel Guirado limping around withb a bad ankle, Wolf playing the lone striker role up top and struggling to make hay with little support to follow up despite his best efforts at hold up play. I really fear the second half... Weiss has to make some changes, Guiado is getting skinned by the fleet aussies, and Ian seems ineffective... Ethridge showing his quality though, despite the Aussie goal which really was the fault of the defense caught standing around

Jason Sabio has improved his defense form lately.

well azkals lookwd much stronger in the second half. Azkals played a much closer game with the aussies in the second half, and didn't give them so much room. I'm sure this must have been due to some discussion int he locker room at the half. Good subs to, brining in the midget doctora, Moy, beloya, all of whom contributed well. Sabio continues to impress with his strong improvements on defense. De jong tough as ever, and Guriado surprisingly lasted the match with gas in teh tank. He worked very hard this game and deserves the accolades ofg the fans. we had several good chances, but poor finishing prevented the equalizer this game. Good to see Neil back, too.

DID WE MISS THE YOUNGHUSBANDS? I believe we would have done better with teh YH bros in this game, by the way. I think we missed the creat9ivity of James in midfield, and the determination of Phil up front although you cannot take anything away from Wolfie who was superb in this game. Perhaps with Phil partnering up front we would have had more action as Wolf was often left alone up top with the ball and no help.
