    Hello guys

    I am Dan from Pampanga.

Played competitive football back in high school days which was more than a decade ago. Just returning again to play the beautiful game.

My old position was Left Defender / Left Midfielder.

Currently, I am training on and keeping myself in shape and playing this game again with a amateur futbol club in Manila.

    TFA,

Its really a big achievement that you've had this running for 3 years now....you are a pioneer.

You might think that you are just a simple person from Isabella province trying his own special way in getting football to the people.

But the fact of the matter is....you (or more specifically azkals.com is global !)...I for one bow to you for your initiative.

As much I love football...it never occurred to me to create a fan-site....but pioneers like you did...I remembered my science teacher saying to me that it only takes one idea to change the world.

I hope one day PFF recognised the efforts of pioneers like you (also azkals.united, kaholeros etc etc)...because without your sites, fans like me and others wouldnt have a medium were we can discuss like or contrasting opinions about football.

Maybe a simple thank you (in their "official" website) may be enough....personally, I am thinking of all expense trip to watch the azkals during home games or even just to meet and greet the players.

But the greatest "Thank You" will be for someone to say, "I am a product of Philippines' grassroots system, I got interested in football because azkals.com gave me good advice..."

HRK1, thank you for the good words! I appreciate it.

Whether PFF recognize this site or not, that's up to them. It would be great if they would though. I'll just do my part to spread football's popularity in the Philippines online (through Azkals.com) and offline (coaching kids).

@Azkals...you rock!!! Or as my boys would say it, "you are so sick!" Which basically means you are beyond cool, at least that is how I understand it!

Hello, I'm an American married to a Filipina. Hope you don't mind me wandering in here. I have 2 kids playing soccer, both at high levels. My 12 year old is making a name for himself in our state as an elite player, and hopes to one day play for the Azkals. Who knows?

Our favorite pro teams are Barca and ManU, but we also watch AC Milan & Bayern Munich.

Hi HVA, welcome to Azkals.com. There's also an American lady in this forum (soccerpride) who married a Filipino guy.

Your 12 year old looks good. I hope you could upload more videos of your kid.

Thanks. We have more videos. Joshua has lightning speed, great field vision, intelligent, and can keep the ball at his feet. His premier level coaches have told us his "soccer IQ is incredible" We will see. Right now he loves what he's doing, which is important. Best of all, he loves the Philippines! We are hoping to get him on the field in February when we visit Cebu. Hopefully we can find a friendly somewhere

There's a popular two day tournament in Cebu City called the Thirsty Cup. It will be held on February 2012, it's usually January. Hopefully, I could visit Cebu on the tournament day.

Well if your Joshua becomes a world class player, the US may call for his services. It's up for him to decide, but it would be great if he chooses the Philippines.

Welcome HVACMD!!! I am excited more people are finding this forum, especially those of us soccer loving fans, who follow our kids around from here to there!!!

What state are you in? Curious because sometimes some states use different "technical" language when speaking soccer, and the very few words you used, are right up my alley!!! LOL!!!

I log a journal here, just for fun, and in hopes others would do the same, just so we can get a glimpse at how others handle the sport/life balance!

Hi soccerpride! I am from NH, an hour north of Boston. My son plays mostly in Massachusetts. My daughter also plays at a high level and plays both for her club and for her high school. Our soccer schedule leaves little room for any other activities.

Where are you from? And where is your journal? Is it on this site?

@HVACMD, WOW all the way from Massachusetts...can't say I have had the pleasure of visiting over there, but certainly on my bucket list. We live in Washington State, in the suburbs of Seattle. Our boys play in premier clubs, for USYS. I totally understand the "...little room for any other activities." My 12 year old use to do competitive karate, and is a natural, EXTREMELY gifted. He placed top three at all of his tournaments, was in the black belt club within 5 months, and graduated into his blue belt in 5 months as well. However, it is a very committed sport as well, and soccer was more important to him, so we supported him. My now 17 year old is phenomenal in baseball. Was in Babe Ruth's, All Star's and received several invitations to train with the regional team, but he to chose soccer as well. He also plays for high school; made the varsity team as a freshman, and has lettered both years, and now is a junior. His high school team was just ranked 15 in the nation, coming from nowhere, and were definitively the shocker.

The journal is here on this forum, its called "Futbol Journal." LOL! I am not a writer by any means, so I caution you ahead of time. If you read the first post, you will get it...I am logging the life of a soccer mom (me).

@TFA - Mga manginginom ang name ng team namin. Mga malalaki ang tyan. It has a funny unique and catchy name though. After the 2012 Grigio Cup 7-aside Soccer in Don Bosco Tech. college in Mandaluyong. I plan to return to home province with my old high school team mates as members of our newly formed team.
