Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great holiday and are looking forward to a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year!

Our school is finalizing their annual calendar for the parents regarding football tournaments, training camps/seminars, etc. As a parent, I want to be sure that our boys have access to the best opportunities not just here in Manila, but also regionally in the Philippines and perhaps also regionally in Asia. However, I have been doing some research on the internet, and have had difficulty finding a list of annual tournaments open for youth ages 5 to high school age. I think everyone probably knows about the Alaska Cup, but beyond this...???

Thus I would like everyone to suggest the most well known, annual Youth Tournaments in their region so that schools like ours can begin to consider not only the same-old same-old tournaments, but also perhaps other opportunities in other parts of the country or perhaps even regionally in Asia that might be good opportunities to travel to.

Alternatively, if anyone knows of a place where these are already being listed, would appreciate a point to that source.

As our school schedule is developed, I will also try to list what we have found as well, using this forum post as a distribution means... Many thanks in advance!

Following is a list of tournaments; I will update this as more are suggested so we have a consolidated list:
EDIT JAN 5: Here is the updated tournament table, thanks to info provided by c_d on another forum:

Moderator: I want to update the first lead post with new info (see below) but I no longer see the EDIT option after having already made one edit. Is this a parameter inadvertently set incorrectly when you set up the forum? Why is the post only limited to one edit?

Teddy's dad, I forgot to add this to my post in the other forum but you might want to look into the Cherifer Football Festival (7-a-side). The 2011 edition was organized by Dream Sports Enterprises Event Management. Contact persons were Bernard Ocampo (0906-2855806) and Domingo Lacuesta (0927-5196826/0918-4940571).

In Iligan, we have the Z League. It started in the first week of December of last year. It will supposed to start on January 8, but Sendong disturbed us a bit, still waiting for announcements of when it will resume.

It also has a monthly 7 or 8 a side tournament. It will resume on January 29.
