Azkals.com started off as a football forum in 2009 where only few but passionate Filipino soccer and national football team fans as well as some foreigners converged, then transformed into a blog in 2016.

The site was largely unnoticed since its inception, but that changed on December 5, 2010 when the Philippines beat Vietnam 2-0 in the AFF Suzuki Cup group game. That memorable victory now remembered as the “Miracle in Hanoi” has made the Azkals a household name, consequently their popularity has benefited this website.
